Cuckmere Valley

My son is getting really keen on 'car safaris', so even though it wasn't raining,  we checked out the Cuckmere Valley to maintain his enthusiasm.

Lovely views of a Kingfisher on the meanders, but it was just to quick to photograph. This lovely Robin was more obliging. They become very territorial as winter kicks in, and I have one singing each morning in my garden.

Further up the valley there were good numbers of wildfowl, mainly Canada Geese and Wigeon, but with some Greylag and Teal.

Did someone say dog? An off-lead dog changed the atmosphere very quickly.

The birds soon settled again and resumed grazing.

Winter landscapes around Alfriston.
