Sovereign Harbour

I made a return visit to Sovereign Harbour in the hope of getting some closer views of the Black Guillemot.

Redshank in the outer harbour. Their legs seeming to glow in the modest afternoon light. The legs are in fact orange, but like the Robin 'red-breast'  the birds were probably named before that word entered the English language.

The Black Guillemot, in a confiding mood.

Greater Black-backed Gulls.

Ringed Plovers feeding on the exposed beach in the outer harbour.
