Small Tortoiseshell
A lovely Small Tortoiseshell Butterfly visited my garden. This was the first time I have had a really good look at one this year, and as usual, I found myself completely entranced. The archetypal butterfly of my childhood. I still find the row of blue markings along the wing edges fascinating.
