ARCHIVE: South Africa 4

Table Mountain had been closed the day before due to low cloud and wind, so a sunny day was very welcome.

Rock hyrax, Procavia capensis. These lovely creatures were really indifferent to the large number of people on the mountain.

The view to the south, towards the Cape of Good Hope.

Cape Town.

 Another view to the south.

Black Girdled Lizard, Cordylus niger. This species is practically endemic to Table Mountain. The dark colour is thought to help it absorb heat from the sun as the mountain top is rarely sunny

 Cape Crow, Corvus capensis.
