ARCHIVE: South Africa 2

Seal Island near Hout Bay is a fantastic colony of South African Fur Seals. However, the smell is truly astonishing.

We visited early in the morning when the swell on the sea is at its most gentle, at only about 4 metres.

Cape Cormorant, Phalacrocorax neglectus.

Fur Seal.

Kelp Gull, Larus dominicanus.

Beautiful Hout Bay.

Distant flock of African Sacred Ibis, Threskiornis aethiopicus.

Hartlaub's Gull, Larus hartlaubii.
