Summer Holiday Day 19: Chester Zoo, part 2 - The older part of the zoo

Into what I remember as the oldest part of the zoo.
Domestic Bactrian Camel, annoying labelled as the Critically Endangered wild species. But then all zoos do this.

Red Forest Duiker

Gabon Viper

Red River Hogs. These guys were busy getting pondweed to eat, from their moat

Lake Titicaca Frog

Barbary Stripped Mouse

Pygmy Mouse

Elegant Crested Tinamou

Blue Throated Macaw

Blue Tree Monitor

Bell's Anglehead Forest Dragon

Bornean Orang Utang
Tricoloured Parrotfinch

Horn-headed Lizard

Great Green Macaw

Linne's Two-toed Sloth. The first photo documents the sloth's behaviour of visiting the ground to use a midden.

Quite exceptional Jaguar viewing. The male was pacing and roaring, while the melanistic female was charging around outside and repeatedly leaping into her pool.
