July has started and the grass on the Downs as already long and yellow. There is currently a cooler interlude, between heatwaves. In the evenings the hills bathe gloriously in golden light as chalk glaland flowers grow and butterflies speed past on the breeze.
Saw my first Cinnabar caterpillars on Ragwort.
