In addition to the repeated heatwaves, 2026 will be remembered for the greatest known influx of Hummingbird Hawkmoths to the UK. It has been a regular highlight of the summer to see the occasional Hawkmoth feed on the Valerian in the backgarden. This year we regular have four at once. This typically elusive subject can this year easily be photographed just with a mobile, as I have here.
