Looking for Nightjars and Woodcock, Old Lodge

An enchanting and warm evening at Old Lodge, with a late calling Cuckoo adding to the excitement. So many people at the reserve, that it was little wonder that the birds kept their distance.

Wonderful sky, with a fresh breeze arriving at about 10pm. Close encounter with a truly lovely small herd of Belted Gallway cattle, including several calves, some very milky.
