Wells-next-the-sea

The harbour at Wells is a haven for birds.

Brent Geese

After spending the night on a boat called The Albatross, (which does B&B and fantastic Dutch pancakes), I had a great position to watch as dawn progressed.

The sky was alive with skein after skein of Pink-footed Geese, a marvellous spectacle, and one I had been desperate to see. I watched several thousand fly over.

Across the salt marsh good numbers of Brent Geese were feeding.

Black-headed Gull

Grey Plover

 Ringed Plover

Redshank

Curlew

Also about the harbour were Oystercatcher, Shelduck, Rock Pipit and House Sparrow.
