Osprey

A welcome surprise, while walking in woods near Ellisfield in Hampshire, was a juvenile Osprey on migration.

There were no nearby lakes that I am aware of, so it seems reasonable to assume that the bird would move on quickly.

My third Osprey of the year; the first was a Spring migrant over my patch in Eastbourne and the second a breeding adult near Bassenthwaite Lake, Cumbria.

The local Red Kites seemed unfazed by the Osprey's presence.
