Holkham NNR

Late afternoon on a gloomy and damp day, but Holkham is a wonderful place. Within minutes of parking I saw Grey Partridge and Hare. Numerous Marsh Harriers drifted over, along with a steady stream of geese.

Grey Partridge, part of a covey of 11 or 12

Spotted this Hare, lying low, which ran off and gave a better view.

I watched this Jay collect and bury acorns for several minutes.

There was a steady influx of Cormorant flying in from the sea

Last of all, a first winter Scaup. A lifetime first for me.
