The wintering flock of Golden Plovers is a remarkable spectacle, particularly on a sunny day early in November, with many individuals retaining some of their summer finery.
The flock was very nervous, and every few minutes they would take off, wheel about, then settle back onto the small islands in the Flat Beach area of the reserve.
