Hobby hunting Swallows, Warren Hill

 A dozen or more gregarious and chatty Swallows feeding above Warren Hill and occasionally landing in a tree. Suddenly the relaxed behaviour became urgent as a predator was spotted and alarm calls filled the air. A few moments later a Hobby arrived.

Wheatear, Heathy Brow

 An Autumn migrant, hunting for insects from a fence post.






Heathy Brow is now being grazed each year, which has boosted the chalk grassland flowers.

Ravens, Coombe Hill

For several years there have been breeding Ravens near Coombe Hill. Earlier this year we came upon a family group of four. This time there was just an adult pair, who spent some time grooming each other. They clearly have a strong bond.
