I really love June, and for me it is the start of summer. After a particularly cold May it was a joy to experience a genuinely warm day. I had visited Godolphin, near Helston in Cornwall after spending a week on the Penwith peninsula, and it was almost a shock to see the mature trees on the estate in full leaf.
The old granite buildings made excellent homes for numerous Barn Swallows, and they were hunting over a lovely flower meadow. I took these photos by attempting to track the hunting birds, letting the backgrounds blur/
