Short-eared Owls, West Rise Marsh

The highest water levels I have ever seen at the marsh, after the intense rain of the day before. Wading across a flooded field of rough grass I flushed two Short-eared Owls.

There were also good numbers of waterfowl, with these Shoveler taking to the wing at regular intervals.
